Erik Jayce Landberg: Break The Spell - Release date: 19th September 2008
Swedish guitarist and composer Erik Jayce Landberg was born in the winter of 1977. Due to his father's professional commitments, he saw himself growing up between the Swedish countryside, Stockholm and Switzerland. Being exposed to a constant change of cultures Jayce developed a strong interest in art and poetry, but had originally no interest in playing music.
However, after his mother's repeated pressure to play an instrument like the piano or the violin, he saw himself confronted with a difficult choice. At age 14, he finally gave in and decided to pick up the guitar and soon after immersed himself in composition and writing from the very beginning. The piano was Jayce's next choice, on which he later composed pieces like "Winter" and "Marilyn". Being exposed to rock and classical music simultaneously, he soon absorbed the essence of the two genres and originally endavoured to combine them like his predecessors Malmsteen and Uli Jon Roth.
At 18, Jayce left his Swiss household to permanently relocate to Stockholm were he joined several bands until he finally met with singer Goran Edman (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum). The two of them set up to record two songs, "Lost Without You" co-written with Goran and the epic ballad "Marilyn" which Jayce originally wrote as a classical music piece. The recording was released as a single in Europe and attracted soon the attention of record companies abroad. As a result, Jayce signed a solo deal with Japanese record company Marquee Records followed by the English company Escape Music to record his debut album "Break The Spell" also featuring Goran on vocals. The same year, Jayce also recorded two radio jingles for CBS in California and pursues his occupation as a science-fiction novelist("Shades Of Night" published in 2005).

PRESS RELEASE
NIGHTMARE RECORDS, BLASTZONE ENTERTAINMENT & CHAVIS RECORDS Are proud to bring you the TRI-LABEL STAGE / 2ND STAGE SOUTH!
Presenting Swedish Rockers GYPSY ROSE Featuring DAVID REECE on VOCALS
DUE TO SERIOUS FAMILY MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS WITH SOME MEMBERS OF BANGELORE CHOIR, THE BAND HAS BEEN FORCED TO CANCEL, DAVID REESE' WILL STILL PERFORM WITH HIS SWEDISH ROCK BAND GYPSY ROSE.
Lance King of Nightmare Records got word that David was coming out of retirement and contacted his management about playing on their TRI-LABEL STAGE at this years ROCKLAHOMA. Originally David was working to bring his old band BANGELORE CHORE back to life, but that was not yet meant to be, It must be the year of the Gypsy.
David now will play with GYPSY ROSE at this years ROCKLAHOMA on our Tri-Label stage (2ND STAGE SOUTH). With somewhat of a jaded career under their belts since their formation back in 1981. The band signed a deal in 1984 that never saw light of day and then again in 1989 the band hit another brick wall, and so the name of Gypsy Rose was destined to be washed away in the anodes of music history. That was until 2004 when the band decided give it one more try, and finally the bands self-titled debut release saw the light of day and received some favourable reviews.
It's now 2008 and the band is back and this time the band means business, as they have enlisted the vocal talents of David Reece (ex-Accept /Bangalore Choir) fame to put his vast vocals to the Swedes Melodic Masterpiece.
After several years under the radar on a ranch in Montana, lead vocalist David Reece was contacted by Escape Records in 2007 to see what the chances would be for him to go to Sweden to sing on Swedish band Gypsy Rose’s next release. Soon after that David found himself in the studio for the next year recording and writing for the new GYPSY ROSE CD “Another World” to be released worldwide June 20th, 2008
With the opening track ‘Final Call’ on the new release setting the standard for the rest of the album, with its crunching guitar sound and Reece’s powerful melodic tones that communicate the whole Gypsy Rose sound to life.
Reece really shows what a talent he is as he brings his full range to the brilliant song ‘Nothing Really Matters’, with Martin Kronlund’s sterling guitar work unifying with Reece to produce one of the best tracks of the album.
Kronlund’s production is second to none and he has not only brought out the best in the bands sound, but also the best in Reece who is just remarkable throughout. Reece again showing us what we've been missing with another great vocal performance.
Kronlund has found a winning formula and long may it continue.
Set to hit the stage on July 13th 2008, in Pryor, Oklahoma on the 2ND Stage North, Reece is BACK more powerful then ever. David’s voice prowess has added a new melodic dimension to the sound and his feats are matched by the peerless instrumental performances of the founding members.
CHECK OUT GYPSY ROSE @ ROCKLAHOMA TRI-LABEL 2ND STAGE SOUTH!

Gypsy Rose was originally formed in 1981 in Mölnlycke, Sweden, inspired by great British bands such as Thin Lizzy, Rainbow, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. In 1984, Gypsy Rose signed a deal with a Belgium label which went out of business shortly afterwards and the recordings never saw the light of day. After struggling for several more years GYPSY ROSE came in contact with American producer Taavi Mote in 1989. He really liked what they were doing and came over to Sweden to look for a good studio to record the first album. But it all ended up with nothing again. In 2004 the idea came up to talk about playing together again. Almost all musicians in between had been working on other projects. Guitarist Kronlund for example recorded two albums with the band DOGFACE and with URIAH HEEP man Ken Hensley. The only problem was that the previous drummer hadn’t touched his drums since 1991, so the guys asked another friend to join them: Imre Daun (Don Patrol). Gypsy Rose was born again! The band’s first album “Gypsy Rose” (ESM120) was released in 2005. This work shows influences from various eras of rock music. Some say the band’s very own style somewhere lies right in the middle between typical Swedish Melodic Rock, Fair Warning, BONFIRE, SCORPIONS and Thin Lizzy. “Gypsy Rose” was recorded at JM Studio in Mölnlycke, Sweden by Martin Kronlund. The album featured a guest appearance by DOGFACE/ AT VANCE vocalist Mats Levén on backing vocals, and he also a guest on this new CD. Reviews were hot! It’s now 2008 and here is the new CD “Another World”, and with an important change in the line-up. Vocalist Håkan Gustafsson has been replaced with David Reece, a seasoned front man previously involved with “Accept and “Bangalore Choir”. This makes a huge difference to the vocals and the result is astounding. Many will already know that Martin Kronlund is a world class producer and his work shows on this outstanding CD. Powerful melodies, crunching guitar work and beautiful keyboards are the order of the day. This is a huge recording and begs to be heard, Gypsy Rose have finally matured and blossomed into a force to be reckoned with!
Gypsy Rose will be on tour this summer

Atlantic rerelease Power on 22 August
Escape Music are delighted to announce the reissue of the CD "Power" by Atlantic. First released back in 1994 on the Music For Nations label. British band Atlantic raised many eyebrows with their one-off release which can be ranked alongside bands such as as "Dare" , "FM" , "Heartland" and "Shy" (Tony Mills guests on the album also!). Atlantic band members include Simon Harrison on guitar and keyboards and the great Phil Bates (Trickster) on Lead Vocals, guitars and keyboards. The album had so much potential at the time it is a shame that it has not received the recognition it richly deserves, so here it is in its full re-mastered glory with a bonus track that was not on the original.

Atlantic is: Simon Harrison: guitar and keyboards / Phil Bates: Lead Vocals, guitars and keyboards / Paul Hoare: Bass / Andy Duncan: Drums / Chris Taylor: Keyboards / Glenn Williams:Keyboards / Andy Van Evans: Guitars / Phil Ridden: Drums / Backing Vocals: Tony Mills, David Saylor, Pete Green, , Jo Bates, Phil Bates

Track list: It's only love / Power over me / When the war is over / Bad Blood / Can't hold on / hands of Fate / Every beat of my heart / Dangerous Games / Nothing to lose / Hard to believe + bonus "Hearts on Fire".

Steve Overland will be interviewed by Steve Price ARfm radio http://www.arfm.co.uk/ on Sunday 11th May 2008 at 18.15 pm

ROB MORATTI JOINS SAGA:
Saga have their new vocalist!! Escape Music are pleased to announce that Vocalist Rob Moratti of Canadian AOR group Final Frontier (and a Solo artist) has been picked to take up where Michael Sadler left off. And here are the comments when Andrew McNiece talked to Rob Moratti by asking Rob to comment on the new role for me. Rob was happy to oblige: "I'm so excited about it Andrew, it just became official news last Monday but nothing was posted and so I kept it hush until we were ready. I heard about the audition on Q107 but I thought to myself, what are the chances and so I let it go. Then a friend of mine mentioned it to me for the second time and something then told me that I've got to do this. So I had emailed Ian Crichton regarding the auditions and he told me that they're still searching. I had given Ian my profile on MySpace to check out. Shortly after, I get an email from Ian Crichton with some positive interest. They narrowed it down to 5 vocalists for the live audition and I was the first one up. It was a very comfortable atmosphere coz' all the band members are great guys and you feel that as soon as you enter the studio. I performed 5 songs with Saga. Things were then feeling very positive but nothing was official yet. So they later asked me to record a few tracks before finalizing. I did 5 songs for Saga and that finally closed the deal. It's amazing how things work out...I'm like a kid in candy store right about now!" Thanks Rob and good luck mate. Stay tuned for further updates. Rob at this moment is finishing his new solo album for Escape Music

White Wolf : Live in Germany will be realsesd by Escape Music on May 21st 2008.
White Wolf have had a busy 2007. They have returned to the limelight with the release of their new CD Victim of the Spotlight (ESM155). Not only that but a double digipack reissue (ESM157) of their celebrated eighties outings Standing Alone (1984) and Endangered Species (1986) has hit the streets, with a few bonus video clips to add to the excitement.
In September 2007 the band were asked to play the UFOR Festival in Ludwigsburg, Germany and since that legendary performance they have added many new fans to their already loyal following…..
The six seasoned musicians rocked the enthusiastic crowd right from the start and with an exciting and varied set White Wolf turned out one great song after another. The audience were truly amazed at the sheer power of the dual guitar attack of Scott Web and original member Cam Macleod backed with the intense rhythm of Russ Bergquist and Brendan Ostrander. Strong keyboards were supplied by David J Petovar as well as frontman Don Wolf who gave the vocal performance of his life.
White Wolf are legends, make no mistake and this is a worthy addition to your collection. With the 2007 release of the third White Wolf album Victim of the Spotlight (ESM155) and the reissue of the two earlier albums then the future is bright for this Canadian six piece. The Wolf shall prowl once more…….this is a fantastic live performance and essential for anyone wishing to experience the sheer power of this magnificent hard rock band.

After four high class albums, the band knows how to make it up there to the top bands of the genre. The talented four-piece consisting of singer Mikael Erlandsson, axeman Andy Maleck and TALISMAN’s rhythm section, Marcel Jacob and Jamie Borger entertained a very enthusiastic audience with eight perfectly executed songs. The first three songs are straight from the latest studio album “Saturn Skyline” and it just shows how the band has matured since the first album. The audience are involved from the start backing up the impact these four guys make when they are on stage together. A really tight performance is the order of the day

Mikael Erlandsson is one of the best singer/songwriters in Sweden today with a successful career as a solo artist, especially in Europe and Japan. Andy Maleck, from the successful German Hard Rock band FAIR WARNING is a very talented guitarist, has a brilliant tone and a flair for putting guitar harmonies together. Marcel Jacob and Jamie Borger are something of the best bass/drums units you can find around. This live performance reflects that bond as they turn out great melodic rock tunes one after the other, with plenty of help from the audience!!

Just to make this disc special we have two studio recorded bonus songs “When you love someone” and “You won’t see me cry”, these are both excellent tunes.

The second disc is a “best of” and there are plenty of great tunes to choose from here. Even with just four studio albums under their belt, Last Autumns’ Dream have a list of tunes that everyone would want to hear again and again.

This double CD package is a dream come true for Last Autumn’s Dream fans and shows them in good light for their forthcoming fifth studio album, details to be announced soon!!

Escape Music Ltd. takes great pleasure in announcing the signing of the new rock band, Airtime, featuring the legendary multi-talented musicians Rik Emmett (ex Triumph / Solo artist) on lead vocals and all guitars and basses; and Michael Shotton (Von Groove) on drums, percussion, noises, keyboards and background vocals.

The title of the album is "LIBERTY MANIFESTO" and is scheduled for release in the week of 19th November, 2007. As you would expect from two such highly respected musicians, their music is vibrant and exciting Classic Rock in the same style of Led Zep, Rush, and of course some elements of Triumph and Von Groove... with vocal melodies and harmonies that are sometimes reminiscent of Journey or Queen - but Airtime definitely has its own original and unique character, with fantastic hook lines!!

The Basis of Vindictiv started in early 2004 and is the brainchild of Stefan Lindholm. At an early stage Stefan contacted keyboard maestro Pontus Larsson and they started to work on some of the songs Stefan had laid down. They recorded a demo with Tommy Karevik (Seventh Wonder) and guitarist Johan Larsson (Johan and Tommy Band). The result was the 2005 demo and it met with some great reviews in Sweden rock magazine. However, Johan and Tommy decided to move on but Stefan managed to contact respected singer Goran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen / Karma, etc) and as he liked the songs he put his heart and soul into making them fantastic. Bass player Nalle Pahlsson (Zan-Clan, Treat) joined the already impressive line-up and through Goran they got in touch with drummer Mikael Wikman. Mikaels drumming really suited the band and everything was then complete. Here we are with the brand new recording, produced by Stefan Lindholm and mixed by Goran Elmquist at the "Toolshed" in Stockholm.

Musically the band is everything you would expect and more from Sweden. The past vocal work of Goran Edman is bound to create a stir before we even put the CD in the player! The opening chords of "Fool's Paradise" say it all, and the scene is set for a great outing of powerful melodies and soaring harmonies. The guitar technique of Stefan Lindholm is very nice, and he seems to effortlessly produce exciting riffs and melodies. His early years admiring and emulating the works of Malsteen and Vai shine through but he does have a technique of his own that finds its way through. It is possible to find overall comparisons to Malmsteen, Treat, Talk of the Town and many more. However, Vindictiv do possess an air of individuality that will set them apart and the release of this fantastic debut album will be eagerly awaited by all.

Produced by: Rik Emmett and Michael Shotton / Engineered by Michael Shotton / Mastered by Nick Blagona (Deep Purple, Tea Party, April Wine, and engineered for The Police, Rush, David Bowie)

The Players: Chris Ousey – All Vocals / Steve Morris – Guitars, Bass & Keyboards / Fredrik Oscarsson - Drums. Produced by: Steve Morris for T.O.M. Productions. Recorded at: Ocean Reach Studio's Runcorn, Cheshire, UK. Vocals Recorded by Gary Hughes at Aria Studio's, Fleetwood, UK. Mixed and Mastered by Martin Kronlund and Hakan Kristofferson at JM Recording Studio's, Gothenburg, Sweden.

The History:

Chris Ousey’s career goes from strength to strength. His first main achievement was with Polygram recording artists "Monroe" with guitarist Gary Sharpe, but Chris never made it to the album as he was snatched in the pre-production stages by John Bonham's son, Jason, for his new band of the moment, Virginia Wolf. The band notched up 250,000 album sales between two records in the form of their self titled debut (produced by Queen's Roger Taylor) and "Push" (produced by Keith Olsen).

Heartland was actually formed by Chris with Gary Sharpe and their self titled debut on A & M Records in the early nineties was produced by James "Jimbo" Barton. Barton eventually teamed up with Heartland bassist Phil Brown and the pair went on to produce Trixter, Steve Perry and Queensryche. Heartland originally toured with Mr. Big in support of their debut album. Chris and Gary later got together and put out "Wide Open" in 1994, an album that has been reissued by Escape Music with bonus tracks (ESM 046). Later that year, Escape Music's Khalil Turk introduced Chris to guitarist Steve Morris. Steve is a guitar virtuoso and as experienced as Chris in his own field having recorded two albums with Epic recording artist's "Export" (“Living in fear of the Private Eye” and “Export”) as well as touring with their own independent album supporting Slade. Through Export he got to work with Tony Bongiovi and Lance Quinn as well as writing with Bob Halligan Jnr. and Michael Bolton. Finally, Steve became guitarist for Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan and recorded three albums in addition to co-writing all the material, before he hooked up with Chris Ousey.

The album Heartland III (ESM 002), which was essentially the first release on the then newly formed Escape Music label, has done extremely well since its release in November, 1995 and 12 years later is still very much a popular album. This third outing was considered more commercial than the previous two albums, but nevertheless kept the rock fan's respect as well as gaining a wider audience. In early 1997 the album "Bridge of Fools" (ESM 011) was unleashed, with a return to rock roots and more of a 'band' feel. Along with Chris on lead vocals and Steve on guitars, Say keyboards player Chris Lloyd and original Heartland drummer Steve Gibson joined the line-up, together with bassist Tim Duncan. At this point in time, Escape Music was working on many other projects, one of these being Vancouver based band “Pokerface” (Life’s A Gamble ESM 008). This particular outfit is fronted by Darcy Deutsch (Prism) and features guitarist/song writer/producer Kenny “Kaos” Loney. Kenny was to become very much a part of Heartland when Steve was tied up recording “Dream Catcher” with Ian Gillan. Hence, the collaboration between Chris and Kenny, known as “The Distance”, culminating in the release of two albums “The Distance” (ESM 022) and “Live and Learn” (ESM 042).

Soon after, the production started for “Miracles by Design” (ESM 029), the fifth Heartland album. The album was released in May, 98 and recorded in Parr Street Studio’s (Belonging to Genesis’s management) using Ken Nelson as sound engineer. As keyboards player Chris Lloyd (Say) had recently been injured in a car crash, Steve Morris had to finish the keyboards before the tapes went to Vancouver for completion. Kenny made his contribution to the album and “Distance” cohorts John Counsel and Dave Hopia added keys and bass respectively. Loverboy/Blackstone man Paul Dean in his own Vancouver studios carried out the mixing.

Chris and Steve have both expanded their already sound experience by working with many Escape Music artists in recent years, examples being Change of Heart, Message, Radio Silence and Newman, plus both Foreigner and Boston tributes. Their production and input is clearly evident. Since the release of “Miracles”, Heartland have released a sixth (acoustic) album “When Angels Call” (ESM 043), featuring songs old and new as the Heartland wagon train rolled ahead into a new millennium. The Ousey/Morris core remained backed with original drummer Steve Gibson, bass player Tim Hewitt (Boulevard) and keyboards aficionado Steve Millington (10cc).

As it Comes”, the seventh album, was a major leap forward by the band in the way that it combined all of their best elements and brought them out in a beautiful manner. This album Rocked!: it was a winner from the start, with production from Steve Morris, mixing by Ray Roper (Stonebolt) and mastering by Craig Wadell. Heartland recorded album number eight, “Communication Down” in 2002 and this saw Heartland going for the throat. This album was a real ripper and the band was now pushing towards a more hard rock sound. Keyboards were supplied by the great Dave Chapman (Change of Heart).

Move On” was the ninth studio album by this great British melodic rock band. It was over two years in the making and was well worth the wait. Steve Morris has also been a very busy man, as well as working with Gillan he has also been working on the Shadowman albums with Steve Overland (FM, The Ladder).

So, here we are at milestone in the band’s history, their 10th studio album no less. The core of the band Ousey and Morris are at their best, like a fine red wine they have matured into the much loved band we hear and love today. “Mind Your head” gives us 11 beautiful rock music tracks that are simply pleasure to the ears. Finely crafted riffs are backed with solid rhythms and, of course, those unmistakable lead vocals of Chris Ousey.

The Heartland era is still very much with us and will be here for many years to come.

All songs written by Jon Stavert and Carolina Lindwall

Jet Trail is an exciting new female-fronted rock band from Sweden, and they certainly know how to set the pace!

The leading lady in question is one Carolina Lindwall, who is a fantastic singer as well as songwriter and she has a voice that simply is her own, one listen of this brand new CD will confirm that. Ritchie Blackmore heard Carolina´s voice when she sang as an opening act for “Blackmores Night” in Stockholm at the “China Theatre”. Ritchie was very impressed with what he heard that night and told her “You’re going places!”

Jon Stavert has played and toured with many famous Swedish artists for several years (Mats Ronander, Mikael Rickfors, Py Bäckman, Dan Hylander, Charlotte Perelli, Nanne Grönwall to name a few) He also contributed as a guitarist and co-writer on some songs on the album “Not for sale” by the group “Promotion” an embryo of later Grand Illusion. Jon is a guitarist with great musical experience and a wide range of skills. In 2005 Jon and Carolina started the band “Jet Trail”, it was then that Christian Sundell (ex Grand Illusion), who has also played with Jon in many other studio and live projects, joined the band. Christian is an excellent drummer with a very special kind of humour. He is regarded by many as a terrific musician and an all round great bloke! Explosive bass player Johan Holst from the band “Zebra Kings” completes the line up on bass guitar.

Musically Jet Trail plays good honest hard rock that really wants to go places. Nice aggressive guitar riffs are provided by Jon, with delightful lead vocals by the ever-present Carolina and all backed up by a solid rhythm section of Christian and Johan. This is a great new album with a fresh approach to the ever changing face of rock music.

Possibly one of the most talented, yet underrated metal acts to come out of Canada in the 1980’s had to be the band “White Wolf”. They were formed in 1980, and were very popular as a cover band, but they also wrote their own material which was warmly received by the audience. When they originally shopped their demo material they had many record company offers, including Heavy Metal Records and Music for Nations. The band eventually decided to go with the rapidly expanding RCA Group and in 1984 signed with them for the first White Wolf release “Standing Alone”. The album was produced by both Jack Richardson and the famous Danny Lowe (Painter, Hammersmith, Prototype, 451 degrees). A good deal of exposure followed and White Wolf toured the States and Eastern Canada extensively. Their popularity spread in to Japan and Europe, which helped a quarter of a million copies of the album being sold worldwide.

Two years later in 1986 the album “Endangered Species” was released and this was a very worthy follow up to the “Standing Alone” album. The album had an aura of such bands as Y & T and Triumph, but also British bands like Judas Priest and Magnum. Oddly enough the album had a cover of Magnum’s own “Just Like and Arrow”!!.

Later Don Wolf was to front the band “Point of Power” in 1992, record a solo album (Making Changes) and later form “Project X” with Kenny Kaos in order release an album “Blueprint for Xcess” on the Escape music label in the late 90’s (catalogue number ESM006). This was one of Escape’s earliest releases and is still highly regarded to this day!

So here we have two classic releases packaged in the legendary Escape way together with three video clips as a special bonus. White Wolf are legends, make no mistake and this is a worthy addition to your collection. With the recent release of the third White Wolf album “Victim of the Spotlight” (ESM155) the scene is set for a very welcome return to glory. The Wolf shall prowl once more…….

Possibly one of the most talented, yet underrated metal acts to come out of Canada in the 1980’s had to be the band “White Wolf”. They were formed in 1980, and were very popular as a cover band, but they also wrote their own material which was warmly received by the audience.

However, for various reasons the band actually split up in 1987, a sad day for the band and fans alike. Even at the time there was thoughts of recording a third album…who would have thought it would not be until 20 years later!!

Moving back to the present day and White Wolf, it was Escape’s own Khalil Turk that suggested to Don a new album would be a great idea. A phone call to Cam Macleod and the thoughts the band had 20 years ago had been magically resurrected. Here we are in 2007 and the White Wolf is to prowl the streets once more! The new album “Victim of a Spotlight” is soon to be released and the sound these guys have created is even better than before; this is very catchy metal and is bound to rekindle the flame for fans old and new.

Also Escape Music are delighted to announce the re-issue of both White Wolf albums “Endangered Species” and “Standing Alone” as a double CD digipak beautifully put together with liner notes, with many band pictures, re-mastered with two bonus tracks and three video tracks

October sees a new release from Finnish band Prayer.
Prayer play exciting hard melodic rock with a style that joins together the best of Saga Fate and Royal Hunt. Their music has meaning and these six guys have all been committed to making their debut one of the most talked about releases in 2005. Anyone with a penchant for soaring vocals, driving guitars and plenty of keyboards were in for a real treat. It’s as if all your prayers had been answered!

Here we are just over a year later and Prayer come racing back onto the scene with a follow up album. With songs like “Stranger in your house” and “Need the night” Prayer will rock you well into the night. The band has great keyboard and guitar interplay, this has always been one of their strong-points and every now and again they remind you of Stage Dolls and Pretty Maids, which ain’t no bad thing. There are just no weak songs on the album, and there is a lot to offer from these guys. The sound they create is always very interesting and will appeal to a wide audience, fans of pop rock will like its commercial approach while some of the band’s technical moments will please prog metal fans. Whichever way you look at it it there is something for everyone here!.
Prayer's Get What I Came For will be released on 27th October
