Double Dealer Moving Target DELETED esm041 Double Dealer is a brand new hard rock band from Vancouver, Canada. The backbone of the band is two outstandingly talented men, David Steele and Kenny Geatros. David Steele is a Vancouver based singer/songwriter who has worked with such outfits as Motley Crue, The Cult, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Cher and Marc LaFrance (Blackstone). David has also sung on several Annihilator albums released in Japan. He has also worked with Brian "Too loud" Macleod of Headpins and Chilliwack fame and songwriter / producer Paul Dean (Loverboy). The Loverboy song "Goodbye Angel" was written by David and Kenny, along with "Freedom", which won a local song competition and was featured on David Foster's TV show "New Faces". Kenny has also worked with many artists, playing guitar and writing. His stylized guitar interpretations have found him very much in demand for recording purposes. Completing the line-up are Randy Booth (Bass) and Rick Fedyk (Drums). The debut album "Moving Target" is a hard rock outing that surpasses itself, boasting a huge sound with razor sharp riffs from Kenny and an outstanding vocal performance from David. This album rocks! Opener "Jammin' in the Jungle" comes across as a hybrid of early Mr.Big, Extreme, Van Halen and UFO. David Steele has a breathtaking range that sees him in the same light as Mr. Big's Eric Martin with a hint of Danny Bowes (Thunder). Just listen to "What Fires Your Imagination" for a massive guitar attack, which can only be described as hard rock at it's very best. There is no slowing down for "Stickin' My Love" which is reminiscent of early Coney Hatch, before we move on to the thundering "Keep Your Hands To Yourself". This track has such an infectious hook that it will have you singing along with the words by the first chorus is out. The quality does not let up as the boys pump out classic after classic of no-holds barred rock music. Even when the mood slows down the songs still hit the target, these two boys certainly know how to write songs. The last track, "Freedom", is mentioned earlier on this page and it sees the introduction of keyboards for what is a beautiful song. It is no surprise that this was a smash hit and features on a well-known TV show in America. The final product has been produced, mixed and engineered by the David & Kenny, whilst the mastering has been looked after by Paul "The Machine" Dean (Blackstone/Loverboy), who needs no introduction. An album that is destined to be a contender for hard rock album of the year. |
