Brad Darrid is a brand new talent from Vancouver, Canada. He is from a musical family and has been an active musician since his teens, but it was only recently that Brad took a more serious approach to his work after he met Paul Laine (Danger Danger vocalist & solo artist) on Vancouver Island. Paul inspired him to take things further and co-wrote the songs which have now been recorded on the debut album for Escape Music. Brad is influenced by Vancouver’s most popular rock artist, Bryan Adams. The influence comes over very strongly, and the album even features drummer Pat Steward of the Bryan Adam’s line-up, but the end result is flavoured with Brad’s own unique touch. Brad also plays guitar and piano on the album, whilst Paul, as a multi instrumentalist, displays his enormous talent to maximum effect by playing just about every instrument you could think of.

Escape Music first gave a sample of “Brad” on the free sampler given away with Hard RoxX magazine last year, the track “If Love’s Not Enough” caused quit a stir and enquiries have been abundant ever since. The track is typical of the album, but there are plenty of other magical moments to sink your teeth into, such as the awesome guitar sound on “Midnight Train”, the unforgettable hook driving the song “Friday Night” and the beautiful ballad “Broken”. Brad has such a powerful vocal range that it makes the whole album that much more enjoyable.

The album is produced by Paul Laine and Joel Vandyke (Bryan Adams) and was recorded in “The Greenhouse” in Vancouver, a studio used by such artists as Bryan Adams, Aerosmith and Van Halen. Basically, the album has been recorded in the finest possible way and the end result is simply astounding. A great summer album.
